The Media Arts Council works to further its mission to actively support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community.

Benefits & Artist Opportunities

The Media Arts Council Artist Registry is an online directory of local artists, musicians, actors, dancers, arts and cultural organizations, and even professionals in the arts industry. As part of our ongoing mission to support local artists, we have created the M.A.C. Artist Registry to provide online exposure for each artist with their own page and links directly to the artist's own website. This valuable online resource provides artists who have little or no exposure on the internet a way to be seen and contacted. These pages help all artists gain higher positions in internet search results - increasing their chances of being noticed. The Registry is also used when placing artists in 2nd Saturday businesses and by the public for purchasing art directly from the artist. Learn more about How to Join the Artist Registry.

The Registry will:

  • Provide you with a page on our website to showcase your work
  • Provide a brief description of your creative energies and talents
  • List your contact information (publicly or privately) so that we and others may contact you
  • Provide 2nd Saturday merchants with the opportunity to choose your work for our monthly event
  • Increase your position in popular search engine results across the internet
  • Allow you to take advantage of these exclusive opportunities:

This Space for Rent Art Exhibit
This Space for Rent is an annual art exhibit and sale featuring M.A.C. Registry Artists. The exhibit transforms a vacant real estate space in downtown Media into a temporary gallery showcasing the best of local artwork. All Registry Artists are invited to participate. Artists benefit from a highly publicized opportunity to exhibit and sell work, free for those with paid Registry dues. The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception during the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll in May, with additional hours all week long. Artwork will include paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, handbags, collage, and more. Learn more about this event on the This Space for Rent page of this site. Artists who would like to participate should contact the saturdays [at] mediaartscouncil [dot] org (subject: This%20Space%20for%20Rent%20inquiry) (This Space for Rent Coordinator).

M.A.C. Window Gallery at Bryn Mawr Trust
The Media Arts Council, in collaboration with Bryn Mawr Trust, Media, is offering artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in the State Street store front of Bryn Mawr Trust for one month. To learn more about this space, please visit the M.A.C. Window Gallery page of this site.

Interested artists should contact our info [at] mediaartscouncil [dot] org (subject: Window%20Gallery%20inquiry) (Artist Committee Chair) for more details. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury panel, artists will be notified of the panel’s decision, and if selected will be assigned a month for an exhibition.

2nd Saturday Exhibits
Every month, we provide unique opportunities to our Registry Artists to showcase their work, perform live in State Street businesses, and take part in the monthly arts stroll – further exposing their work to the public and potential buyers. In addition, we host a Featured Artist every month by spotlighting one artist in all of our promotional material, including this website!

M.A.C. Registry Artist Discounts
Throughout the year, the Media Arts Council sponsors and supports a variety of arts related events, exhibits, and arts fairs in the area. For many of these, a special Registry Artist discount is available to our artists when available.

Support the Arts in Media

The arts strengthen a community in so many ways and we need the Media community to help support M.A.C. so that we can continue to bring fun and free cultural opportunities to you and your families.
